5 Questions to Ask Before Making Any Hire
1) How many and what type of references did you call? Did you talk to people that worked with the person?
2) Is this person likeable? If they are likeable, do they have the skillset for the job, actually? Or do we just like the person?
3) Did you conduct a background check to see if they have any red flags in their past?
4) Did we find anything iffy we wanted to question? Example: if the person was on a sabbatical did you find out why?
5) Did they agree to a 60-120 day into probationary period?
