Education Costs

If you’re here, you have a passion for animals and particularly dogs. You believe in the mission and want to help families. If you have ever looked for a job working with animals, you’ll run into two problems.

1) They want you to be certified and have a lot of experience.

2) The ones that don’t require experience either don’t pay or it’s hard to make a living on the wage offered.

When I started in dog training, I worked for over 18 months for FREE as an apprentice learning from others in exchange to clean kennels and feed dogs. I did it almost every. single. day. for 18 months.

I said that when I started a company and had people who wanted to learn to be trainers I would do it differently. I not only would train them, I would pay them to get trained.

This is NOT common in this industry. Look around and see if you can find anywhere else that will pay you well WHILE training you in a completely new skill. You likely won’t find it.

If you don’t want to work for free or super cheap wages, you can go to school. I also did that. I went through the Master Dog Trainer Course at Highland K9 also known as The International School For Dog Trainers.

The downside to this route, it’s expensive. I wrote this to let you know that what we’re paying you to learn cost others thousands of dollars to learn. Here are some examples:

With that being said and now that you know what you’d pay to learn this in a school setting, please be a GREAT steward of this opportunity.

Not only are you learning to be a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, but we’re paying you to do so and paying a living wage which isn’t a thing others in our industry do.
