Mental Health & Wonder Dog

Working at Wonder Dog is truly a joy. You get to play with dogs and truly make a difference in the families lives we serve daily. And not just make a difference but the work you do has a lasting impact in the people we serve… for years and years! There aren’t many jobs, careers, etc. where you can really make a difference like you can at Wonder Dog.

And while working here is a joy, there is a downside to it. Just like there are with most great things in life. And if you aren’t careful, this downside can effect you too. This downside is simply mental health.

If you don’t take care of your mental health and pay attention to it, burnout is possible.

So with this page we hope to guide you in what we have found works best to take care of your mental health and get the most joy out of working here and serving families.

Work Hard & Smart

Here are a few ways we have found to keep your mental in check and avoid burnout.

1) When you are at work, be all in. When you are off, be all off!

2) Take a weekend once a quarter.

Seriously, we recommend taking a weekend off once a quarter to get out of town and be off. Get out, explore, enjoy and refresh. There are big benefits to getting out and taking some time off.

Happy Life = Happy Work

On top of developing your skill set for work inside Wonder Dog we also want to help develop you outside of Wonder Dog. It is really hard to have a happy work life with an unbalanced personal life. We provide multiple ways to help you grow outside of Wonder Dog so that you can have a more balanced and happy life.
