WHY Management (And Doing it WELL) is So Important!
Woo hoo! Manager training! 🤩 This is gonna be fun! Before we jump into HOW to be a GREAT manager, let’s talk about WHY being a manager is so important. There’s no better way to introduce it than the mission and goal of leadership at Wonder Dog… ⬇️
The mission and goal of the leadership of Wonder Dog
Be a “human incubator” that turns people with raw talent and character attributes into the type of people we need to see Wonder Dog grow and THRIVE!
Okay… so what does this mean?
We hire people who have the ‘it’ factor. People who are happy and healthy. People who see the vision of Wonder Dog from the first time they get on the site and read the hiring page. Upon reading, they know they want IN. They want what we have. They want to be apart of the team and join a company that has growth and career potential and opportunity.
After a number of screenings and interviews, the ones who make the cut join the team and are eager to learn, get trained and get started.
Our goal is to not only train them in a skill, like how to train, sell, work the phones, network with the community, etc. but to train them to become the TYPE of person we want to run and lead our companies one day.
So managing them and leading them is naturally very important. We take the raw talent they have, the character attributes they have and through a series of training, meeting, 1-on-1 calls with them, we steer and guide them into people we need them to be.
Think about Wonder Dog like a human incubator. Our simple goal is to incubate the people and once they are ready, they branch out and take the next step up the ladder. And then once there, the person in the role above them starts the process over. And then it happens again.
The goal is through time and exposure to good training, real world events, leadership by us, etc. that they will rise to the occasion and get promoted. And then it will happen again and then they can ‘incubate’ people underneath them.
That’s why you’re here. You got brought on for the reasons above and now your job as a ‘manager’ is to incubate the people below you so that they can take your spot and you can move up the ladder.
Follow along with all this training, apply it, circle back to it often and you’ll see real-time results ASAP. The changes will happen with your team right before your eyes and you won’t be able to get enough of it!
