Two Dog Families

We get a lot of families who have multiple dogs. Some families decide to have us work with and train both of them!

Two Dog Family Tips

When you work with multiple dogs, one is normally a weenie and one is normally more outgoing and the crew leader.

When you work with multiple dogs, one is normally more difficult than the other.

Just because they are siblings does NOT mean they will be the same. Siblings can often act totally different than one another. They also normally do not have the same level on the remote collar.

When walking with both dogs on leash make sure they have the same amount of leash. If one dog is ahead of the other it will normally cause the one with the shorter leash to pull harder. Or if one is at heel, make the other walk at heel too. Or if they want to loose leash, then make them both loose leash.

TIP: Other Dogs In The House

If someone we are training has another dog we are training and another dog in the house, once the dog we are training is proficient we need to be training the dog around the other dog in the house. This means place around the other dog, walks with the other dog, door manners, etc.

Two Dog Off-Leash

Below is some helpful tips about training two dog off leash in the same household and off-leash.

  • Have the remote collar set for the worst dog who is most likely to act up when going off-leash. If you know one dog will be worse than the other, have that collar ready to go.
