Wonder Dog Teamwork

1) One Million Dog Families by 2050- That is a big number and it’ll take all we got to hit that mark. We’ll have to work as a team if we actually will help these dog families enjoy their best friends as we build up our game-playing tribe of dog-lovers worldwide.

2) Team- We want to deliver wow and keep the compensation plans as simple as we think, respond & move as ONE solidified team. Basically, like a sports team, we have coaches (the owners), the promoters (the sales & marketing guys), the players (the Dog Pro’s) and the medical staff (admin support). That is, we all have individual assignments, but shared team goals - like a football team trying to win the Super Bowl. We must work together for us to change the world for one million dog families!

3) Change- We are a growing start-up and the truth is that the demands on us are shifting all the time as we grow which means that narrow job descriptions nor comp plans will last very long unless we divorce the two. That is…

4) Stable Pay w/ Flexing Tasks- In light of these tenants above, we have a stabilized, team-based comp plan with a base salary for each full-time Dog Pro which is based upon a flexing job description which could take on various kinds of tasks in any given month due to various demands are put on us. Other team positions have differing compensation plans based on the tasks at hand and their personality types (what drives them and what makes them feel secure). Basically, teammates are paid as they are to do whatever is needed to cover the demands of our growing start-up, plus bonuses for other extra tasks…paid just before the 1st and 15th.

5) Additional Pay- This means that we'll ask some team members to take on varying tasks: some of which will be paid for by the salary, some will be paid for by additional pay or bonuses.

6) Time Off

- Paid Days Off. See handbook.

- Full Days or Weeks Off. If a salaried employee is absent for a full day or full week for personal reasons, his/her salary will be prorated accordingly. Sicknesses, accidents, disabilities & partial days off are handled differently.

- Disciplinary Days Off. If the teammate must be disciplined for attitude, breaking rules, safety violations, major mistakes, etc with full days off, then the teammate could go unpaid for these as well. This decision will be the discretion of the supervisor who writes up the teammate.

- Military, Jury, Witness Days Off. If a teammate is absent for full days due to temporary military work, jury duty or witnessing in a court case, the teammate’s salary will be reduced by the amount of pay their receive for these efforts.

- Partial Off Days. See handbook.

7) Individual & Team Metrics- We will have team and individual performance metrics for satisfaction, leads generation, upsells, social media engagement, sales numbers, etc.

8) Golden Hours- Golden hours are any time during the working day. For our Dog Pros and Eval/Networking pros the general work day is around 10:30-6:30 generally. During times of Golden Hours, we expect this time to be filled with work thing and things that are in line with your daily priorities for your position. This means, if you get a cancellation, you must work on something work-related during that time. You must inform the team to see if there’s something of high priority that you can help with & you must update your calendar to reflect what you did with that time.

Additional Things to keep in mind

Team Bonding Nights

We do team get-togethers the second Friday of each from 7-10pm. We have so much fun at these & we can’t wait for you to join in!

Emergency Schedule

On the off chance we have someone leaves or gets fired, we may have to extend the work day temporarily in order to help schedule the clients that are on their calendar. If we start your day earlier, we won’t do a late appointment that day added on. If we do a late appointment, the start time of your work day will be the same. If we do have to do an emergency schedule, know that it is temporary. It must be done and is part of the WOW, We Take Responsibility, Growth Through Hard Things team values. So while it is inconvenient, it doesn’t last long.

Your Lessons & Side Work

Most of our team works Tuesday through Friday from 10:00AM-6:30PM and then Saturdays from 9-4, however Dog Pro’s are free to train dogs whenever they are available and whenever their clients are available. As long as the workload is being handled in a balanced way between Dog Pro’s (one isn’t consistently taking more dogs than another), and as long as the side work of each one is being done in a timely manner, we don’t care when Dog Pro’s work.

Ongoing Performance Bonuses

Personal Lead Generation

Any teammate will get a $50 bonus for generating leads that close through their personal conversations, their WOW servicing, passing out their biz card, social media posts, etc

Client Referral Bonus (For The Dog Pro’s)

When our Dog Pro’s do such an incredible job that their client refers Wonder Dog to another family who purchases the training, the Dog Pro will get a $50 WOW bonus! WOWing our clients so much they refer us to friends, family, colleagues, etc. is our favorite way to get new clients!

WOW Moments

Any team mate will get $50 WOW bonus, even our independent contract vendors, if they are recognized for living out the company values in a significant way, especially in delivering WOW.

Loyalty Bonus

$100 for 1 year, $200 for 2 years, $300 for 3 years

Periodic Raises Based on Team Satisfaction Ratings

We will do periodic reviews on each teammate and if the team’s average attitude of a teammate is significantly positive based on attitude and contribution to the team's goals, then that teammate could get a bonus, raise or promotion.

Bonuses from Team Goals

We will challenge the team to various Team Goals and if hit, then the entire team will share in the bonuses for that period. For example, a certain # of new families signed on this month, or a certain number of contact cards filled out at a weekend festival, or a certain number of players at this month’s dog games, etc.
