Commonly Asked Questions

Payment Questions

1) Why can’t we just pay you each time you come out?

“Since we train until the dog is trained, we have no clue how long we will be coming out. It would be 4 times, 6 times, 12 times, etc. Who knows? This is why we don’t offer this. If you want to make payments though, we have PayPal Credit.”

Why? You want your money now and up front, but also they will equate the price per lesson to the hour lesson of the trainer and that then makes it seem not worth it. This causes cancels and refunds.

2) Why can’t we just pay you month to month?

“We’d love to do that, but we’re a small business and not a bank. We have to pay for the team, gear, insurance, etc. and so that’s why we don’t offer payment plans through us. We do offer PayPal credit though and they offer 6 months same as cash. Which is much more flexible and very helpful if you’re looking to make payments.”

3) I saw somewhere it said it was “$50 a month.”

“Well using our PayPal credit program, it is like a credit card which allows you to pay it back monthly. You can pay whatever amount you’d like, so if you want to make payments of $50/month, that is fine. You just have to use PayPal credit.”

4) What is this “Today’s Special Price?”

“Just like every other company we run sales and specials and that is simply the special today’s price! If you sign up today or let me know by the end of the day you get the today’s special price!”

Tribe Questions

1) “Do I have to join The Tribe? What if I don’t want to join The Tribe?”

2) How does regression insurance work?

“On the off chance you have to use it, and it is very rare that people have to, it works for you In two ways. Basically, if after training your dog regresses, call us and if we can’t tell you how to fix it over the phone we come out to fix any issues that pop up while your insurance or tribe membership is active.”

3) Do I have to wait until the training is over to come to the games?

“No. Typically it takes 2-3 lessons until your dog is ready and able to come out to the games. Or maybe your dog could come out sooner, it just depends. Your trainer will tell you when you will be able to come out to the games. Typically your dog needs to be able to heel and sit before being able to come out.”

Obstacle Overcomes

1) What to do/say when they don’t want to pay in full before receiving the service

Client: “I am not comfortable paying up front without getting services.”

Eval Pro: “I totally get it and understand. However, we have worked with thousands of dogs at this point and have locations in multiple cities and states. We haven’t made it this far running off with peoples money. I do have two suggestions if you are concerned with this, first would be pay on a credit card. Second would be to use PayPal to pay in full or use their PayPal credit. With both options if you don’t get what you want or we run off, and trust me neither will be the case, you can do a charge back on your card or file a dispute with PayPal. But clearly we’re not gonna do that, so you won’t have anything to worry about.”

2) “I don’t want the games or the insurance, I just want someone to come out here for training.” OR “I don’t want anything extra. I just want someone to come out here and train my dog, how much does that cost?”

“Well, the games and insurance are just extra goodies and bonuses that come with. The price we quoted today is actually for the in-home training and the equipment. During that we get rid of the bad behaviors, add the good ones and give you control of your dog on/off leash. So you aren’t paying for the games/insurance you are paying for the training. Also, without the games and insurance we can’t get your dog fully trained around distractions.”

3) “I am about to move in X days/weeks/months, etc. should I start now or wait until I get into my new house?”

“We suggest starting before you get moved, because when you get to the new place you’re gonna want a dog that doesn’t jump, pull, potty, etc. And generally speaking, the training should transfer over to the new place as well. So we recommend starting before you actually get moved into the new place. AND since we’re training your dog and we’re training you, the training should stick no matter where you go!”

General Q’s

1) Is there a physical contract?

“We’re actually fully digital, but if you’d like a physical copy I could print it off for you. The checkout page has a a link to the terms and conditions.”

2) What happens if I am not satisfied?

“If you for whatever reason aren’t satisfied we will do a couple of things. If you are unhappy with your trainer, we will get you another trainer. As far as results are concerned, we have regression insurance and we don’t stop until the job is done as long as you are doing your part and practicing with your dog.”

3) What happens if I need to cancel my program? //// What’s your refund policy?

“If you need to cancel your program we will refund you for unused training lessons. Do you see yourself cancelling for any reason? If so, we should hang tight until you are ready to get started.”

Note: If people are asking about the refund policy, DO NOT sell them dog training as these types of humans are the worst kinds of humans.

Training Q’s

1) “Can we get my dog ready for the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test?”

“We can get your dog ready for the test, we can’t guarantee your dog will pass the test because each tester is different but we can get your dog generally ready for the test.

2) “I want to be able to leave my dog out of his kennel when I leave the house.”

“We can definitely help move your dog to the point where he is just left out in the house but this is determined by a few factors. Training, Maturity and stimulation. We can help with the training plan and getting your dog stimulated but if your dog isn’t mature enough to stay out alone that will come with time rather than training. Most dogs are ready for this between 12 and 24 months.”

3) “What kind of collars do you use?”

Conversation example below.

Client (C): What kind of collars do you use?

Eval Pro (EP): We use walking dog collars and remote collars. We are balanced trainers who balance positive and negative to communicate effectively.

C: Are those the shock collars? I don’t want to use a shock collar.

EP: No ma’am. We use remote collars that vibrate and tingle to talk to the dog at a distance. The collars we use are the highest end collars you can use and they vibrate and tingle. They don’t shock.

C: Okay, what are the walking dog collars? Are those the pinch collars?

EP: They could be called that I guess, but we call them walking dog collars because we mostly use them for walking. They communicate with the dog the same way a mother dog would. If the dog pulls or we pull on the leash it tells them in dog language not do whatever it was. For example: how do mom dogs communicate with puppies? Well when they are being bad the mom dog nips the puppy on the neck to tell the puppy “don’t do that”. These collars talk to the dog in the same way.

C: Do these collars hurt the dog?

EP: Our goal is to make the collars a fun thing for your dog. When your dog wears these collars, we want it to be paired with fun. Like being able to go on walks, be off-leash, go for rides in the car, etc. So the goal is to pair them with fun things the dog likes. Can they hurt the dog? If used incorrectly, yes. They can definitely hurt your dog if you are not using them properly. That’s the point of hiring a trainer though, so we can show you how to use them properly.

4) Is the collar a shock collar?

“No. The collars we use have two functions. They vibrate and they tingle. They don’t “Shock”. Now, if you use them incorrectly and turn them up too high, then it can definitely feel like a shock . But the goal of the collars is to use the lowest level of the collar to get the result we’re looking for. We use the collars to simply talk to the dogs at a distance. Also the collars we use and that you get with the program are literally the nicest and most expensive collars you can buy for pet dog training. Also, the gear that comes with the program is the same stuff the Dog Pro’s use with their own personal dogs.”

5) What kind of corrections do you use?

This question generally comes after explaining how we train dogs and that we are balanced trainers.

“A correction can be anything that the dog doesn’t like. It can be you saying “no” firmly, putting pennies in a can to make a loud noise, pet corrector spray, a training collar, etc. Anything that the dog doesn’t like. The idea though is to balance the corrections with the treats and get a dog that doesn’t need either and just listens because we say so.”

6) What qualifications do your trainers have?

“Our Master Dog Trainer Corey came up with a certification process for our Dog Pro's that all of them go through to get certified through us. So when they get hired, they all go through this process and get certified through us.”

  • What qualifications does Corey have then?

    • “Well Corey went to the International School for Dog Trainers and got certified as a Master Dog Trainer.”

7) How long has my trainer worked for you?

If you know, tell them. If the trainer is recently hired, make sure to emphasize they have been certified through us and they are good enough that we trust them with our clients. If you don’t know, be honest and ask if they’d like for you to find out. Go back to the first sentence if they are newer.

8) Does my dog have to wear the collar forever? /// How long will my dog have to wear the collar?

“The goal over time is to ween the dogs off of the collars so you do not have to use them forever. It is a bit hard to say up front though how long it will take until your dog won’t need the collars just because each dog is different. Our general rule of thumb is that once you don’t need the collars for a week or so, or don’t have to use corrections for a week or so, then it is time to start weening them away.”
